GTT receives the industry’s first LNG Cargo Ready notation at Gastech 2019 exhibition
2019-09-18
During the Gastech exhibition, which takes place from 17 to 19 September 2019 in Houston, GTT receives the first LNG Cargo Ready notation from the classification society ABS for its design of very large ethane carriers (VLECs).
This LNG Cargo Ready notation confirms that an ethane carrier is suitable for future modification to trade LNG cargoes without having to convert the vessel tanks. This is the first notation available for ethane carriers that assist in assessing the level of LNG cargo readiness. This notation identifies potential barriers and suitability of equipment and systems on the very large ethane carrier (VLEC) are checked.
GTT is pleased to develop solutions for its clients and notably for one that recently ordered six second generation VLECs. These solutions enable to provide more flexibility to ship-owners and charterers, while remaining competitive without making any compromise on safety.
