GTT receives order for one FSRU from Hyundai Heavy Industries
Paris – 8 June. GTT, the world leader in the design of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), announces that its Mark III Flex technology was selected for a new Floating Storage & Regasification Unit (FSRU), a stationary vessel capable of loading LNG from LNG carriers, with storage and re-gasification. This FSRU will be built by the Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and is expected to be delivered in 2017.
All of the fourteen FSRUs ordered in the world since 2011 are or will be equipped with GTT technologies. As of March 31st, 2015, GTT’s order book included six FSRUs, of which three were ordered last year. In addition, six FSRUs equipped with GTT technologies were delivered in 2014. The company owes its strong position in this offshore segment to the competitive advantages offered by its technologies, including CAPEX/OPEX and optimization of LNG storage capacity.
Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT commented: “We are very satisfied that our systems have become the standard in this offshore gas industry segment. We are quite confident in our capability to record new successes”.
